Bali Island Paradise Raka Tours
One of the best activities to see the spectacular countryside and the mountain scenery of Bali is on a cycling tour. Riding downhill on modern mountain bikes, through quiet villages that expose the heart of Bali.
Start the morning with piping hot tea overlooking Lake Batur and the volcanic smoke plumes of Mount Batur. The frequent stops to explore temples, shady plantations, and picturesque villages give a rare insight into the traditional lifestyle and make the ride suitable for all ages. The Batur Trail is an ideal family outing.
The day starts with a scenic ride from your hotel to a restaurant overlooking Lake Batur and the still-active volcano, Mount Batur, where you enjoy morning tea, light snacks, and fresh fruits. Once morning tea is over you are transported by coach to the assembly point to start the tour. There you will be met by the guides and fitted with a bicycle, safety helmet, riding gloves, and bottled water. The guide will give a briefing on the areas that he will take you through and explain the safety tips that must be followed at all times during the tour. The entire group is then divided into groups of 5 or 6 persons with one guide being assigned to each subgroup.
Then you are off on a leisurely, mostly downhill trail from Mount Batur that leads you through sleepy villages and secret back-road trails and tracks. Frequent stops along the way allow you to visit temples, farms, and traditional villages that offer an insight into a Bali that is not commonly seen. Except for four 300-meter sections, the 25 kilometers of the Batur Trail is virtually all downhill. An easy ride that is adventurous, exciting, fun, educational, and occasionally hilarious. All the guides come from the surrounding regions and are very knowledgeable in Balinese lifestyle and culture.
In addition to your guide, a support vehicle follows your group and if you feel that you need a break, the guides will load your bike on the vehicle where you can relax for a couple of kilometers in an air-conditioned van. The gentle downhill ride lasts approximately 2 - 2 1/2 hours. The Batur Trail ends at the temple of Pengukur-kur in the village of Pejeng in Ganyar at around 1.30 pm. where a cold towel is handed out. After a short cooling-off period you are transported in air-conditioned vehicles to a restaurant in Ubud where a sumptuous international buffet lunch is served. At around 3.00 pm. you depart from Ubud, arriving back at your hotel from 4.30 to 5.00 pm

The five bus routes cover a decent proportion of the heart of the island. Route Corridor One for example connects Central Parking Kuta with Terminal Persiapan in Tabanan. Route Corridor Two is perhaps the most useful to tourists since it runs from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport and stops at Central Parking in Kuta and two central points within the resort hotspots.
